Jordi Ibern, a Reiki enthusiast and lover of traditional Japanese culture, founded Voluntarios Reiki in 2006, a Spanish non-profit association created to bring Reiki and its benefits to less privileged groups in society. Jordi served as the president of the association until 2013. During these seven years, they conducted over 7000 Reiki therapies in various cities across the country.

Jordi began his journey with Reiki in 2002, completing the full Usui Reiki Ryoho training under the guidance of Julia Costa (Spain), one of the first Reiki teachers in Spain. Julia has been teaching Reiki for over 35 years.

Additionally, Jordi has published the book ‘The Spiritual Path of Reiki‘ and is about to publish a book on meditation and Zen.

In his desire to delve deeper, Jordi Ibern pursued training in Tibetan Reiki, Jikiden Reiki, Gendai Reiki Ho, and Reiki Karuna, under internationally renowned teachers such as Yamaguchi Sensei (Japan), Frank A. Petter (Germany), or Rika Saruhashi (Japan).

Additionally, he frequently travels to Japan to deepen his knowledge of Reiki, meditation, Japanese Buddhism, Japanese culture, and its traditions. Every year, Jordi organizes a trip to Japan in spring for a small group of students, where he teaches the Reiki master course and provides an authentic immersion in Japanese culture and spirituality.

Jordi is also a meditation and Mindfulness teacher. He has received training in meditation following different philosophies and schools. However, his teachings are heavily influenced by the venerable monk Thich Nhat Hanh and the monks and nuns of the Zen monastery, Plum Village (France), where he underwent training in Mindfulness and meditation and an extended retreat.

He has also completed Qi Gong and Tai Chi training in China at the prestigious Long Tou Shan Tai Chi School in Yangshuo, Guillin. Furthermore, he completed the “Mindfulness aplicado a la educación” course at the University of Barcelona, the master’s degree “Título Superior Universitario en Mindfulness y Gestión Emocional” at the University of La Salle, studied Psychology at UNED, and he has also completed the online course “The Science of Well-Being” from Yale University.
